Senior Analyst, Credit Governance and Control


 


The Credit Governance and Control team is responsible for ensuring that all credit-related activities undertaken by the Credit Risk Organization meet appropriate standards of governance against credit, regulatory, and conformance risk.  The team ensures that limits set for the organization are well designed, monitored, and managed within the expectations of the standards established for the organization and that all activities undertaken meet the high expectations of operating in control set by the business.


 


Responsibilities:


·       Support the timely delivery of BCBS239 compliant project plans


·       Use SAS to investigate and document in-scope reports to support their transition and build in an alternative reporting solution


·        Review and rebuild existing processes; enhance the existing feeds into the BCBS239 compliant solution


·        Manage stakeholder relationships and contact with suppliers around the constraints and limitations of reporting


·        Manage logical methods for testing solutions against requirements (use case, test scenarios and scripts)


·         Ensure governance standards are adopted and maintained for all work undertaken


·         Ensure that the necessary control evidence is stored, attested to, and available for inspection by testing bodies


·        Attend meetings and represent the Credit Risk Organization view  


·        Produce timely, accurate, and audit-ready documentation relating to the management of the Credit Governance Cycle


·       Work with the management team to identify control weaknesses, establish a strong feedback loop, and coordinate communication of all inputs and outputs to the cycle


·       This role requires a good deal of interaction with peers, managers, and senior leaders both within Credit Risk and across the organization

Required Qualifications :


·         Bachelor’s Degree or higher


·         5+ years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably in Retail Credit


·         Strong SAS skills and management information experience in a risk environment


·         An awareness of risk oversight responsibilities and ensuring compliance to BCBS239


·      An understanding of the implications of working in a control framework and the risks imposed to implementations on a larger scale


·        An ability to interpret Risk policy sensibly and practically, weighing up alternatives and applying solutions that meet the requirements on a day to day basis


·        Experience in the use of risk management tools/systems


·         Experience in Credit Risk or Finance reporting and analysis


·        A good understanding of reconciliation requirements and implementation within compliant solutions


·         Willingness to take ownership of tasks and pro-actively drive initiatives forward


·         Solid Risk Reporting and IT system awareness


·      Attention to detail and an analytical and enquiring mind to ensure the project requirements are understood, delivered and documented to the highest standard  


·        Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player who is able to interact across all levels of the firm
